It is reported that the name Kanie first appeared in the Document of the Mizuno Family in 1215. At the time, the land of Kanie, with one side surrounded by the sea, had been called Kaniegou or Tomiyoshisyou, and was later changed to Kanie because there were many willows and crabs at the beach .
